    The Mr. O' Malley Fingerplay

Children are sitting.

Stroke "whiskers" on either side of mouth.

Hold right arm out and then curl into self (like hugging) for the children and left arm
for Mrs. O'Malley.

Look proudly to left & right.

Count to Twenty.

Mr. O'Malley lives back in the alley,

   Along with his children
   and Mrs. O'Malley.

Of sons and and of daughters
   O'Malley has plenty.

   I counted them all
and I found he has twenty!

The Mrs. O'Malley Action Verse

Children stand in a circle.

Walk lightly in a circle with backs hunched and arms hanging down.

Stop, pick up "kitten" from floor.
Put "kitten" in mouth.
Walk around again.

   Mrs. O'Malley,
   You old alley cat!
   Why do you carry
   Your kittens like that?

   I carry my kittens
   The best way I know.
   My babies go with me
   Wherever I go!
