Star Sun
Joe Scruggs

 Listen to this song.

This song is available on Joe Scruggs' Bahamas Pajamas.

He came from out of the East,
Sunny was his nickname,
A cosmic bully of fire and flames.
He was big and hot, and folks would say,
He'd burn anyone who got in his way.

Star Sun.

Now, summer time is what he liked best.
He'd start with the East and end in the West.
Looking for kids at pools or on the beach sand,
He'd burn their skin with his cosmic brand.

Star Sun.
Stay away, from his burning rays!
Star Sun, Star Sun!
Star Sun!

Now, some folks said that they were his fans,
And they'd show him their skin and get killer tans.
But, it wasn't long before they changed their tune,
He'd wrinkle their skinmade them look like prunes.

Star Sun.

When folks learned about his nasty mood,
They said, "We'll have to tame this big, hot dude.
We'll cover our skin, put sun block on, too.
His cosmic rays won't get through."

Star Sun.
Don't try it, it's ultraviolet!
Star Sun, Star Sun!
Star Sun!

It was a showdown on Main Street, the hottest I've seen.
Folks wore hats and shirts and lots of sunscreen.
Old Sun breathed down his fire, but he learned:
When kids covered up, they couldn't be burned

By Star Sun.

So, the people went home; Sunny went on his way,
But they all knew he'd be back the very next day,
They'd have to fight him all over again,
By covering up and protecting their skin.

From Star Sun.
Stay away, from his burning rays.
Star Sun, Star Sun!

Ooh, ooh! Star Sun! Star Sun!
