Chemistry Song about Surface Tension
Water Molecule Crew
The Snark-a-Snoops

  Listen to this song.

This song, along with 18 other science songs, is available on "What's in the Water?"

Have you seen bugs walk on water, and you wonder how it’s done?
Cause walking round on water must be absolutely fun
Or have you seen how water drops on leaves can look like beads instead?
And water drops can hang like diamonds on a spider web?

It’s like a skin… thin… or like a membrane
Water has a surface tension that it maintains...
.....

Droplets… of water… like little clear bumps
Their coat of surface tension keeps them round and plump...
.....

Try this: take a penny, and put it down flat
Now add a drop of water and another after that...
.....

Surface tension… you want to break it down
Dish detergent… and those ties become unbound
