     Alida Engel, a speech pathologist for over 35 years, was inspired to make a CD to help children learn to say "R" when she realized that most of the families she works with practice their speech on the go.
     “R” in the Car features 10 varied, funny, happy, silly and upbeat songs to practice “r” sounds – in the car, at school, at home, and anywhere! Pre-school through elementary for direct teaching and practice in the kindergarten classroom, speech class or family den. For use by clinicians, teachers, and parents.
     Created by speech pathologist Alida Engel. Written, to engage children and not drive adults crazy, and wonderfully performed by folksinger Jay Mankita and “the Grooveniles.” Pete Seeger calls Jay Mankita, “One of the half dozen best songwriters today.”
