Cinco de Mayo is a holiday for celebrating the Mexican victory of The Battle of Puebla in 1862. Although the French soldiers vastly out numbered the Mexican Militia, the smaller army prevailed. This day celebrates the bravery of those Mexican patriots and the national unity that this victory helped to foster.
