The Witch's Brew
Song Lyrics and Sound Clip
Music & Lyrics by Andrew Queen, based on “I Know an Old Lady”

This song is available on Andrew Queen's GROW

This song is also available on Andrew Queen's Holidays and Seasons

I know an old witch who went out one night
to boil up a brew to stir up a fright

She tossed in a toadstool and hiss of a cat,
some musty dusty powders and the tail of a rat

She cackled like a jackal by the pale moonlight,
sipped from the ladle but it wasn’t quite right

She went out a-searchin’ in the deep dark woods
The potion needed something to be terribly good

She picked up a plant. It was poison oak.
She swallowed three leaves… it ain’t no joke
Perhaps she’ll croak

I know an old witch who swallowed a goblin
Whose eyeballs were wiggling and waggling and wobbling
She swallowed the goblin to the chase the oak, the poison oak
... perhaps she’ll croak

I know an old witch who swallowed a vampire
She sat by the campfire and swallowed a vampire

I know an old witch who swallowed an ogre
The ogre was dripping with green slimy boogers

I know an old witch who swallowed a zombie
What good would this song be without a zombie?

I know an old witch who swallowed a wizard
Who cast a spell and got stuck in her gizzard
The spell created a spooky fog and turned the old witch into a frog

She croaked up the wizard, chased by the zombie…ogre…vampire…goblin…poison oak…
And then she croaked!
