Lyrics:

He was known and he was feared for so many years
As he conquered many tribes all around
And many people too to flight
Rather than stay and fight
As his kingdom expanded in size

Chorus:
The great King Shaka, The great King Shaka
The great King Shaka, The great King Shaka

And the one to have so much influence on his life
His mother the Princess Nandi
Who took her son away when threatened by the tribe
Had coals of anger ember in his heart

Chorus

Refrain

And so in power he rose, subduing all his foes
With his armies of Impis running across the fields
Eventually he ruled from Swaziland up north
Down to Pondoland in the south

Chorus
