Teaching tips from Jim Nailon:
This includes the six primary colors of the rainbow. It also makes a nice folk dance that
students can perform and sing while they dance. Girls each have a scarf or piece of
fabric in one of the six colors. They dance in circles, each containing the six colors of
the rainbow. The boys approach them in a line, singing their part. The boys dance away
from the girls as the girls are singing. In the 3rd verse, the boys pick up flowers and
present them to the girls, who break their circle and form a line opposite the boys.
Upon taking the flowers, they pair up with, and begin to dance with the boys for the
final verse and instrumental ending.
