Arco Iris
Spanish Song Lyrics and Sound Clip
Jim Nailon

Vocal      Instrumental

This song is available on Jim Nailon's "Canciones de mi clase II"

Teaching tips from Jim Nailon:
This includes the six primary colors of the rainbow. It also makes a nice folk dance that students can perform and sing while they dance. Girls each have a scarf or piece of fabric in one of the six colors. They dance in circles, each containing the six colors of the rainbow. The boys approach them in a line, singing their part. The boys dance away from the girls as the girls are singing. In the 3rd verse, the boys pick up flowers and present them to the girls, who break their circle and form a line opposite the boys. Upon taking the flowers, they pair up with, and begin to dance with the boys for the final verse and instrumental ending.

1. Arco iris, arco iris ¿cuáles colores tienes?
Arco iris, arco iris ¿cuáles colores tienes?

Yo tengo amarillo, rojo y morado.
Tengo verde y azul, y anaranjado.

2. Arco iris, arco iris, ¿quieres bailar conmigo?
Arco iris, arco iris, ¿quieres bailar conmigo?

Yo quiero bailar con todos de mis colores.
Aclaro el cielo y curo los dolores.

3. Arco iris, arco iris, te quiero dar mis flores.
Arco iris, arco iris, te quiero dar mis flores.

¡Qué rico el perfume de tus bellas flores!
Bailamos y cantamos a la belleza de colores.

4. Arco iris, arco iris, ¡qué bello es el arco iris!
Arco iris, arco iris, ¡qué bello es el arco iris!
