Household Hazardous Waste
Environmental Song Lyrics and Sound Clip
Stan Slaughter

This song is available on Stan Slaughter's Unintended Consequences

I went to the kitchen to get myself a drink
When I heard a drip down under the sink
I started to clear out all the stuff down below
The plumber was comin', it all had to go
While I was movin' the old polish and paint
I smelled the air, my nose complained
I started coughin ' and wheezin', I had gotten a taste of
Household Hazardous Waste

I was out in the garage I needed the chairs
the last place I put them was way back there
I moved the weed killer and rusty bug spray
It all had to go, it was all in the way
I got the chairs out and put the stuff back
Later my hands were all itchy and cracked
I didn't know it but I'd been face to face with
Household Hazardous Waste

Its the kind of stuff that we all have around
In the basements and garages all over town
It's there to do a job that we once wanted done
So watch out for things that are
Toxic, Caustic, Flammable and Poison
So get all the info and learn all the ways
And check out your house for the places it stays
Be the one in your family who really knows all about
Storage, handling, and proper disposal
We can buy safer products make safe ones ourselves
Keep dangerous substances off of our shelves
Share what you''ve learned and think of the day
When there is no more Household Hazardous Waste
