Ten in the Bed
Traditional Song Lyrics

 Listen to this song.

This song is available on Jim Rule's Too Much Fun All In One!

I realize that “Splat!” sounds a little harsh but that’s how we did it in my classroom. I allowed the children to carefully act like they were falling and hit the floor with their hand. Since they were sitting on the floor already, it wasn’t much of a risk. This song also works well as a line-up or finger play. -- Jim Rule

There were ten in the bed,
And the little one said,
“Roll over! Roll over!”
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
“Ooooooooooh!”
Splat!

Then there were just 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,
Nine in the bed ...

Then there was just one in the bed,
And the little one said,
"Hey! Where did everybody go?
Mom! Dad!
I want to sleep in your bed!"
