Mrs. Brown Went To Town
Inspired by the book Mrs. Brown Went to Town by Wong Herbert Lee
Song by Sam Jones

This song is available on Sam Jones' Songs About Popular Children’s Books-Animals 1.

Lyrics:

(to tune of “Six Little Ducks”)

Mrs. Brown lives in a barn out back
With a cow, two pigs, three ducks, and a yak
Down the street on a bike she went
When a terrier made her have an accident

She had to go to a hospital room
But she wrote that she would be home soon
The postman delivered the letter out back
To the cow, two pigs, three ducks, and a yak

All the animals, except a mouse
Voted to move into Mrs. Brown’s house
They rang the doorbell to hear the chimes
And flushed the toilet one hundred times

They bounced up and down on Mrs. Brown’s bed
They painted the house in matching barn red
They raided the pantry to have a snack
For a cow, two pigs, three ducks, and a yak

The taxicab brought Mrs. Brown back
To a cow, two pigs, three ducks, and a yak
But all the commotion woke Mrs. Brown
To see her bed come crashing down

Life on the farm wasn’t always this way
Until Mrs. Brown went to town that day
So now she lives in the barn out back
With a cow, two pigs, three ducks, and a yak
With a cow, two pigs, three ducks, and a yak
