Activities & Adaptations:
      • Encourage the student to role play each body state depicted in the song
      • Each time the word “check” is sung (i.e. body check, airplane check, etc.), have the student draw an imaginary checkmark on the floor or in the air.

Generalization:
      • Cue the student with words from the song, such as “Remember your body check.” when he or she needs a reminder to self-regulate.
Sample Educational Objective:
      • The student will role play 1) quiet voice, 2) calm body/ deep breathing, 3) eye contact, and 4) sitting up straight, and complete a corresponding checklist demonstrating the same behaviors in a variety of settings.
