Goal Areas:
• Body language
• Expressing emotional states
• Use of facial expression and gestures
• Understanding non-verbal social cues
Activities & Adaptations:
• Have the students role play body gestures during each song verse.
Generalization:
• Ask the student to identify the message of peers’ or adults’ body language throughout the day in addition to identifying what his or her own body language might be communicating.
Sample Educational Objective:
• The student will demonstrate two non-verbal body gestures to express 1) happy, 2) tired, 3) not knowing an answer/ “I don’t know.”
