(NOTE: Lines that start with "S:" are spoken by a student. Any student!)
S: We’re very excited. And do you know why?
S: Because we’re finally in college?
S: This isn't college. It’s ______ (fill in right grade). And it’s gonna be so fun!
CLASS:
We’re gonna have fun
Gonna learn a lot
We’re gonna have fun
Learning what we’re taught
We are glad that school's begun
‘Cause we're gonna…have some fun.

Song 2
CLASS:
Costumes and candy oh boy!
Halloween!
It’s the greatest scam I’ve seen.
Costumes and candy oh boy
Put on a mask or a sheet
Neighbors give you great stuff to eat.
Costumes and candy oh boy
What a day!
Snickers
Skittles
Milky Way.
Costumes and candy oh boy
When the excitement’s complete
Bet you’re gonna hear “brush your teeth.”
Knock on the door
Flash’em a smile
So sweet
Hold out your hand
You get a trick
Or treat.
Costumes and candy oh boy
What a day!
Snickers Skittles Milky Way.
Costumes and candy oh boy
When the excitement’s complete
Bet you’re gonna hear “brush your teeth”
“Brush your teeth”
“Brush…your…teeth.”
HALLOWEEN (2)
S: It’s almost too good to be true.
S: The hardest part is choosing a costume.
S: I can’t decide if I want to be a pirate or a princess.
S: I think’m going to be a frog.
S: That’s a bad idea. You get way more candy if you’re dressed like a mammal.

Thankful they had survived

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY (1)
S: Today we celebrate the life and dreams of Martin Luther King, Jr.
S: He was an African-American minister in Alabama.
S: At that time, black people were not treated fairly in much of the United
States.
S: Martin Luther King led a movement for equality, what we call civil
rights.
Song 5
There was a time
There was a time
Blacks were oppressed for their color
They would despair
It was unfair
Why should one care about color?
There was a time
There was a time
One man stood up, he would change things
He led the fight
For civil rights
Marching for equality.
Martin Luther King it’s your day today
It is now time to sing
Martin Luther King it’s your day today
Martin Luther King.
There was a time
There was a time
One man stood up, he would change things
He led the fight
For civil rights
Marching for equality.
Martin Luther King it’s your day today
It is now time to sing
Martin Luther King it’s your day today
Martin Luther King.
MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY (2)
S: In 1963, Martin Luther King led a March to Washington, D.C.
S: On the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, he gave one of the most famous
speeches in United States history.
S: He told all of America that he had a dream.
Song 6
CLASS:
He had a dream of civil rights
He had a dream that blacks and whites
Would one day live in peace and harmony.
He had a dream that we’d begin
To judge by character not skin
That love would rule supreme
He had a dream.
He had a dream
Build it strong
Build it long
He had a dream
Build it strong
Build it long
He had a dream.
He had a dream for me and you
And though it hasn’t quite come true
We’re making progress ev’ry single day
He had a dream that we¹d begin
To judge by character not skin
That love would rule supreme
He had a dream.
He had a dream
Build it strong
Build it long
He had a dream
Build it strong
Build it long
He had a dream.
(This concludes the first one-third of the script.)
