When learning lines
A line segment
It has a dot
On both ends
Shows where it starts
And where it ends
And if we learn them
They'll be our friends..

But when 2 lines
Are parallel
They're equi-distant
So you can tell.
That they will never meet
We say 'Oh well...
If that's a secret
We'll never tell..'

You know a ray
Points one direction
It has a  dot
It has an arrow
The dot stops its progress
In that direction
The arrow points
The other direction

The perpendicular
Is fun to see
It's just a great big up-
Side down T
With a right angle there
For you and me
Support that big up-
Side down T

But turn it right side up
Or left or right
It's still a T
But can you find it
Find a right angle there
To remind
That perpendiculars
Are fun to find

So as we look at lines
And what they do
Today let's bear in mind
For me and you..
They'll always be there
For you to choose
So pick whichever line you like  and I'll like it too..
