Lyrics:
(to the tune of “Waltzing Matilda”)
Every year in Iceland
All the puffins fly ashore
To lay their eggs instinctively
And they lay their eggs in burrows
After that the eggs all hatch
And the baby pufflings fly down to the sea
The nights of the pufflings
The nights of the pufflings
For 2 weeks they all venture down to the sea
But some of them get stranded all around the Iceland Shore
Kids help the stray ones get down to the sea
All the roaming children
Of Heimaey Island
Rescue stray pufflings from their enemies
And when all the kids release them
And launch the birds into the air
The pufflings flutter safely into the sea
The nights of the pufflings
The nights of the pufflings
For 2 weeks they all venture down to the sea
But some of them get stranded all around the Iceland Shore
Kids help the stray ones get down to the sea
The nights of the pufflings
The nights of the pufflings
For 2 weeks they all venture down to the sea
But some of them get stranded all around the Iceland Shore
Kids help the stray ones get down to the sea
Here come the Pufflings
