You’re staring at your closet, trying to decide
What you’re gonna wear when you go outside
You’ve got a shirt you’ve got a skirt and pink boots for your feet.
But there’s something missing to make the outfit complete.
One thing about you that you advertise
Is your unique ability to accessorize.
Put your mask on honey.
That’s what I say.
Put your mask on honey
If you’re going out today.
Nehru jacket, leopard skin, a thong, or a toga
Pajama pants, leisure suit, leggings for yoga.
What you wear is just a form of personal expression.
But when you’re close to someone you might need to wear protection.
There’s a new trend, radical chic.
Over your mouth and nose and cheek
I got the message. And I’m a believer.
You can dress hot. But don’t get a fever.
The models in Milan, Paris and Rome.
Cover girls can cover up when they’re not at home.
But you can use a scarf or a folded up bandana.
You won’t find one on the rack at Dolce and Gobbana
It’s the latest fashion. Of care and compassion.
Make it for yourself if it turns out they are rationed.
We all know that what’s in vogue is always gonna’ change.
We look back at photographs and clothes look kind of strange.
But I’ll lay even money in fifteen years or more
Selling masks will be the rage at the vintage stores.
When this all is over, though I can’t say just when,
Put it in a drawer, in case you need it again.
