Bb
Alphabet Song for the Letter "B"
Greg Whitfield

 Listen to this song.

This song is available on AlphaSongs.

The B song wonders what the world would be like without the letter B. Brainstorm words with the B sound and then try leaving it out. Simple omission of the sound in words can yield hilarious results; bacon becomes "acon,"  bathroom becomes "athroom."
As a follow-up, gather items around your home that contain the letter B (blocks, balls, brush, beads) and collect these in a 'baggie book'.
To make the book, staple together the bottom edges of 4 or 5 zip-lock baggies and reinforce with masking tape. Each bag becomes a 'page' in the book, inside of which you can store your B goodies. Talk about what the items would be called if there were no letter B. Re-use the baggie book for collecting things pertaining to other letters. And of course, play the omission game with other letters. Children never tire of language play and nonsense words as they learn the alphabet..

Imagine how our lives would be
Without the letter B
Instead of boats we'd ride in oats
When sailing out to sea
Instead of boots we'd all wear
Cowboy oots upon our feet
If we had to live without the letter B

We'd all eat eenie weenie
'Cause beans would be called eans
And peanut utter sandwiches
And hamurgers with cheese
And ripe yellow ananas
And honey made by ees
If we had to live without the letter B

Oh, the world without the letter B
Would not be very cool
My parents wouldn't let me
Ride my icicle to school

And babies would be abies
And we'd all sleep in eds
We'd never ride the bus to school
We'd ride the us instead
And breakfast would be reakfast
Balloons would be alloons
And bunnies would be unnies
And baboons would be ah-oons
And broccoli would be roccoli
And beets would be called eets
If we had to live without the letter B
