Vincent van Gogh: His Biography
Sharon Luanne Rivera: School Art Theatre Productions

  Listen to this song.

The entire song is available on "Rappin' Clappin' Singin' About Art."

Vincent van Gogh was born in 1853.
A peculiar Dutch man, lived life with intensity.
At first he became a preacher, then an artist depicting the poor.
He viewed Japanese art prints, then started painting more colorful

Chorus:
Vincent van Gogh painted "Starry Night"
Olive trees with colors warm and bright.
He painted "Sunflowers," "Cypresses" with curly, swirling lines.
All his art seems alive.

His self-portraits tell of his anger and his pain.
He died an unknown artist, now the world all knows his name.

Vincent van Gogh had a brother, Theo, who sent him money when he was really low.
At times he went hungry because he spent all he had on paint.
No one bought his paintings.
People said they were too strange.

Chorus

Instrumental Break

Lived in Paris for a while then he moved to Arles......

The entire song is available on "Rappin' Clappin' Singin' About Art."
