All living things need energy.
Just to survive, it’s plain to see.
But where they get it is not the same,
There are three different groups with three different names.

Producers get light from the sun
It’s photosynthesis, energy fun
Green plants and algae, of different kinds
Are eating sunlight at dinnertime, yeah!

You and I, now we’re Consumers. (Consumers)
Cause we eat meat and some producers, yeah!
Consumers come in different types,
Depending on the food they like.

There’s herbivores….they eat things that are green
There’s carnivores…. eating meat is their scene
There’s omnivores…. eat anything that they please
There’s scavengers….they eat dead things, oh gross!
