to Find the Missing Distances in a Triangle

Timmy was out swimming in the ocean one day
When a vicious undertow started to carry him away
The lifeguards in the towers knew that he was in distress
And they wanted to determine who could rescue him fastest
They knew that the towers were 400 feet apart
And the angles that were formed by the triangle
So they used the law of sines to find the distances
And the closer lifeguard went and rescued him

Steve, he wants to know how far it is to cross
The rushing little creek behind his house
So he measures off some distance along the creek
The distance is a total of about 35 feet
From each of the endpoints he measures the
Angle to a tree that is across the creek
And finally he uses the law of sines
To find the distance that he's been tryin' to find

Gennifer wants to know the height of a tree
So from the base she walks about 100 feet
She knows that the angle to the top of the tree
From where she's standing's 33 degrees
Now the tree isn't straight, it's a little crooked
So it's not 90 but 83 instead
Gennifer uses the law of sines
61 feet is the approximate height

According to the law of sines
The sine of any angle over its opposite side
Is a constant ratio
So what that means is if I know
A side and 2 angles in a triangle
Then I can find the rest
