Character Education:
Objective: Students will identify moral of story; like people for what they are.
Activity:
Play song and have students listen to words.
Ask student what is the song about?
What animal is in the song?
What sound does the snake make?
Does a snake normally make that sound?
In the song, do the other snakes like the snake that is different?
Make a list of things that the children have in common and that are different.
Language Arts:
Objective: Identify Snake is different because it makes a buzz sound instead of a hiss sound.
Activity:
Play song and have students listen to words.
Ask student what is the song about?
What animal is in the song?
What sound does the snake make?
Does a snake normally make that sound?
Music:
Objective: Students will sing Do, re, mi, fa, so pattern with buzz sound.
Activity: Echo sing Do, re, mi, fa, so pattern with buzz sound. Sing Buzz pattern with music recording.
Objective: Students will identify 6/8 or 3/4 time with movement.
Activity: To identify 6/8 time, model tapping balloon in the air on the first beat. Repeat as needed.
Form circle, tap balloon to a student on the first beat and the student will tap it back to you on the first
beat. Go around the circle to every student.
- To identify ¾ time perform same activity tapping the balloon on the first beat and 4th beat.
