It’s Summer vacation
I’m havin’ a blast
There’s only one problem:
It’s not gonna last!
I swim in the ocean
I splash in the pool
But three weeks from now
I go back to school!
Back to school, back to school
To class work and homework and following rules
Two weeks to go! Will I be cool,
When I go back to school!
The family goes shopping
For back to school clothes
And notebooks and pencils
I’ll take ten of those!
A constant reminder
Of what lies ahead
Now one week to go
I hang by a thread!
Back to school, back to school
To class work and homework and following rules
Four days to go, will I be cool,
When I go back to school!
My hair’s a mess, I’m late for class!
I take a test, I’ll never pass!
Kids all laugh, I start to scream
Mom yells, “WAKE UP! It’s a dream…
4--- 3---2---1—OH NO!!!!!!!!!
I’m back in the schoolyard
With all of my friends
We’re talking and laughing
Together again
The bell rings, our teacher
Walks up to our line
She smiles and I know
It’s gonna be fine!
Back to school, back to school
To class work and homework and following rules
And lunch and gym! Hey, it’s very cool,
I’m glad to be back to school (repeat)
