Songs for Tu Bish'vat

Songs for Celebrating the Jewish Holidays

Tu Bish'vat Songs

Tu Bishvat literally means the 15th day of the Jewish month of Shevat. That is when the holiday of Tu Bishvat falls. It is usually in January or February on our calendar. Tu Bish’vat is known as “The Birthday of the Trees” and it celebrates the beauty of trees especially in the land of Israel. Remember, Israel was mostly desert when the Jews entered the “Promised Land.” The early pioneers of modern Israel learned how to irrigate the land, plant trees and make it beautiful. Many people plant trees on Tu Bish’vat.
