Songs for Sukkot & Simchat Torah

Songs for Celebrating the Jewish Holidays

Sukkot Simchat Torah Songs

Sukkot is one of three Jewish pilgrimage holidays when in Biblical times, Jews would travel to the Temple in Jerusalem. It is a Fall holiday celebrating the harvest where farmers would set up and live in booths in their fields while bringing their crops in. The word sukkot literally means booths. Simchat Torah comes right after Sukkot and celebrates the Torah, our holy scroll which contains the first five books of the Bible. The words Simchat Torah literally mean “rejoicing in the Torah.” On Simchat Torah, we begin reading the Torah from the beginning with the book of Genesis, Chapter 1.
