Hey there, I was once in your shoes,
I thought writing only gave me the blues
Till my teacher recommended I use
Some more interesting vocabulary
Don't leave nouns and verbs all alone
Be descriptive so that more can be shown
And you'll find out how your writing has grown
It'll make your story extraordinary.
You've got to use
CHORUS:
Adverbs and adjectives
Take the simple facts and make 'em more attractive
Adverbs and adjectives
Add a little more to any kind of story
Visualize how, what, and who, and you'll know just what to do
With the tools that are there for you to use –
Adverbs and adjectives!
"The dog barked" doesn't say much at all
Get creative; was the dog big or small?
Real ferocious, or as tame as a doll
Was he black or yellow, or plain or spotted?
"Barking", but a simple bow wow needs an adverb; not just barking but how?
Loudly or softly? Add some detail and now
You've improved your sentence and wow, you've got it!
(The brave little dog barked loudly!)
Now you're using
CHORUS
You can even go further in alot of ways
Why not add a prepositional phrase
Starting with from, over, under, with, at, or to
Use one and then your sentence has
More description and more pizzazz
Going from 'blah' to 'whoo' is easy to do!
The brave little dog barked loudly at the fluffy lazy cat - Imagine that!
That's using
CHORUS
