Little child I’ve watched you grow and now it’s time to let you go…
From Fairy tales in Nursery School to learning Shakespeare in High School.

Running and playing in the park, reading bedtime stories in the dark.
Your tender fingers reached for a toy, I watched your eyes sparkle with joy.

Then they reached for pencils and pens, keyboards, car keys, spending time with friends.
From swing sets to teaching you how to drive, growing too fast, how did I survive?
Helping you find your pathway free, in this ever-changing life journey.

From building blocks to home-made play dough, Ghostbusters and Superheroes,
Ninja Turtles and dinosaurs, endless Legos and Star Wars.
Cuddly stuffed toys and Sesame Street, Strawberry Shortcake and special sweet treats.
Barbie Dolls, we played dress up and we played pretend,
My Little Pony & grew a healthy garden.

Hopscotch, jump rope, and climbing tall trees, rainbows, unicorns and picking daisies,
Cars, trains, airplanes and trips to France, played basketball and ballet danced.

My heart broke and I hid my tears, when you were hurting or had fears.
I sewed your clothing with strong threads, we made gingerbread cookies and baked breads.

I exposed you to music and to art, science, nature and theatre, with love from my heart.

I knew my role was so important, I nurtured with love, ever-present and constant.
I stroked your forehead and combed your hair, I tried to teach you to care and share,
With loving values beyond compare, I tried to never be unfair.

When challenges arose, I did my best, I worked so hard, had little rest.
I raised you with compassion and grace, my love for you transcends time and space.

One night we watched a silk cocoon, shimmering in the light of a bright full moon.
As it melted before your innocent eyes, emerged a giant Luna Moth to our surprise!
Miraculously unfolding its emerald wings, a metaphor for life revealing its dreams.

Spread you wings my beloved child, I’m launching you out into the world.
Find balance on the bumpy road, while my love for you knows no bounds.

There are times that it’s so very hard, that you now live so far away.
I hope I gave you the strong tools needed, to navigate your way.
There’ll be tests and challenges in the hills and valleys, but never be afraid.
Please hold in your heart every single second, how much I love you, every day.

My love for you is an unbreakable bond, like a bridge between two hearts so fond.
Without expectations or aoachments, it’s so cherished,
It’s an unconditional love that simply exists.

A Mother’s Love has no limits, it’s eternal, everlasting, forever and infinite.
And please always keep this ‘Note from Mom’ safe in your pocket!

When you were born, my heart smiled,
thank you for the gift of being my ‘dream come true’ child.
And when the day comes that I become a star, I’ll protect, love & watch over you from afar.
